The following pages contain a brief evaluation of key elements of your birth chart, although it is by no means complete. Astrology can reveal many things about a person's life and personality, and you could study your chart for a lifetime without knowing the answers to all of your questions. The descriptions that follow will give you a "thumbnail" introduction to yourself through astrology.

In interpreting your chart, this report considers the sign of the planets and the north node in your chart, as well as their house placements. It also describes the sign of the Ascendant and the strongest aspects between the planets.

You may note that some of the following descriptions appear to contradict each other--and indeed we are all walking bundles of contradiction. If you examine yourself carefully, you will probably realize that you do in fact possess the qualities of both conflicting descriptions. Even though some parts of the reading may seem to clash, you will see that certain themes are repeated throughout the following pages. These are the ones that will become major issues in your life.

The readings stress that you are the ultimate decider of your fate. The stars may indicate the hand you were dealt at birth, but it is up to you to play that hand well enough to achieve your goals. Also, bear in mind that every "bad" aspect of a chart also has a "good" side. How it is expressed is really up to you. We tend to work at expressing ourselves more positively most of the time and only lapse into the negative behavior described when depressed, angry or scared. Or it is possible that some aspects may better describe your personality or behavior earlier in life. They may seem alien now because you have already worked through them.

A "Strength" number precedes each aspect description; this number takes into account how exact the aspect is, whether the aspect is a major or minor one, and whether an aspecting planet is close to one of the four chart angles. The higher the Strength, the more you are likely to feel the aspect and to act it out in your life.

You are hardworking, practical and have excellent common sense. You are highly efficient in everything you do, and you always strive to do a perfect job. Just be careful not to lapse into the most common habit of Virgo-- being "picky, picky, picky." You would make a good professional critic or analyst, but others do not always enjoy receiving a critical analysis of their life.

Although you are a perfectionist, you are not usually a leader. But you can be depended upon to follow an idea through to completion and see that the best possible job is done. You are very dedicated to your work and are willing to work hard. Yet you can become restless and worrisome and prone to "borrowing trouble." The best job for you would be one through which you can help others.

You believe strongly in your principles and are willing to fight for them if challenged. Personal cleanliness and good diet are important to you, and you can sometimes become a fanatic (or a hypochondriac) in these areas. Your main area of physical weakness is the stomach, even though you may follow a good diet.

Virgo risings can be shy, modest and conservative. They are very sensitive to their environment and to the feelings of others. You want to be rich, but will have to learn to save what you earn. You should avoid drugs.

Physically, people with Virgo rising are generally slender with long legs, arms, feet, hands and fingers--even though they may not be tall. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the newborn consciousness. Natives of this sign often retain qualities associated with youth--such as innocence and naivete-- throughout their lives. Like an infant, Aries is conscious only of his or her own needs. These people demand immediate satisfaction of their needs and will throw "temper tantrums" if they don't get it.

Again like a baby, Aries people seem to be fearless but are in fact very vulnerable. The lesson for Aries is to realize their personal goals and also cultivate some humility and diplomacy (like someone else who is believed to have been born under the sign of Aries--Joan of Arc).

Another challenge for Aries is to learn to use love wisely. Instead of using others' love for you to manipulate them to serve you, give love to others selflessly, expecting nothing in return. This is the point where the baby grows up, leaving behind the egocentric and demanding infant.

Most Aries receive a head injury at some time in their lives, usually incurred as a result of their own rash behavior. Physically, problem areas include the knees, stomach and skin. He or she may also be subject to dental problems, migraine headaches and kidney diseases. Natives of this sign should definitely avoid alcohol.

You learned early to get along with others, and you feel that you function best in partnership with another person, whether it is for work or play. You are able to see both sides of a controversy and can even help others settle their disagreements. As a matter of fact, you may pursue this as an occupational goal and enter a profession in counseling or consulting.

With the Sun in this house you need to learn to be more independent. It is nice to have partners to work and play with, but you need not sacrifice your needs in order to please a friend.
